There are many types of glass out there in interior design, all with varied uses and characteristics. Glass has become a highly useful and popular material in interior design due to its versatility, making it a very important asset in interior design.

Glass is used in many different styles and can be used and implemented widely, from insulating glass to shatterproof to tempered, glass has proven itself to be a strong suit in interior design.

1. Insulating Glass

Just like its name suggests, insulating glass is used as protection from harsh weather conditions and also to help stabilise the room's temperature. This material is also great in helping to control noise, making it ideal in homes and workplaces.

2. Shatterproof Glass

This material is often used in skylights and can be cut and shaped into a variety of sizes and shapes. Shatterproof glass has proven itself to be great for staircases and railings thanks to its durability, as its name suggests. Ever found yourself standing on a glass platform and feeling amazed at the fact that a whole bunch of people can stand on the glass without it breaking, that's probably shatterproof glass!

3. Tempered Glass

Tempered glass is stronger than most types of glass and is typically used in windows , skyscrapers, cars, shower doors, etc! Tempered glass is widely used in retail for displays, as they are tough to break! They would be a perfect fit for making glass facades in your home. Because of these factors, tempered glass can cost a little more than normal glass.

4. Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is a good pick if security is your top priority. There is an extra layer of vinyl sandwiched in between the panes of glass, making it great for partitioning or walls. It is typically used in law enforcement buildings or vehicles due to its incredible durability. However, laminated glass can be very expensive!
